Glass Sword, by Victoria Aveyard

I loved the first book but found the second much slower. The plot was interesting and I wanted to know what happened but it felt like it was being very drawn out. Their goal (which I’m not going to spoil) and attempts to achieve it this time round made sense for the plot though it didn’t feel very original.

Some of the new characters were interesting, especially their powers and it was fun to learn more about them. Relationships between the established characters developed alright but I just didn’t click with the story so didn’t care much about them. Except for Maven who is a complete d*ck!!! I really hate him.

I give it 3/5
